I get fed up with these tadpole snails in one of my tanks because they might will eat my Japanese Ricefish's eggs and I have too many of them in some tanks. I don't want any dwarf puffers or botia type loachs either. But when I heard about this snail who eat other snails and I will get them in this fall from private breeder. Im so excited! They are very pretty snails and very unique looking snails. And they don't get big as apple snails either.
I was thinking about it because my tank is full of snails. And I have tried numerous times and they keep coming back! Would they attack plecos, baby guppies or any community fish?
The killer snail is pretty safe with any community fish except the snaileaters such as loaches, puffers, few predatory shrimps etc. The snails may take a cherry shrimp but then there's no proof that killer snails can take on cherry shrimp. The killer snails eat snails only but you can feed killer snails normal snail food except plant matter (remember this snail are not plant eaters). But if you want babies from killer snails, feed them live snails. The killer snails can take on the same size of their prey snail such as Trumpet, ponds, ramshorn, tadpole, young apple, young mystery, young nerite, young trapdoor snails and sometimes limpets.
The killer snails are suited for community tank. So they have no problems get along with pleco and young guppies.
